The church must be part of the broader plan against the chaos on coastal roads

Dear Editor,

The shocking news of the death of the young intelligent Pastor Okechi Farley of West Coast Berbice has definitely ignited much anger in many hearts against mini bus operators who continue to show no regards for other road users. However, that anger must also be directed to the law enforcement who continue to allow these irresponsible men to get away with their dangerous driving practices on the roads of Guyana. Government law makers must also take responsibility for not putting new laws in place to prevent deaths on the road ways after so many have been killed. Travelling along the coastal roads you can see buses racing with each other and other motorists. Cattle can also be seen at various locations using the road ways unattended. This apparent lack of concern for life must come to an end. How many more will have to suffer, how many more will have to die? A productive community leader has lost his life senselessly, a young pastor; perhaps this will serve to stir the church in Guyana to awake from their slumber.

Sincerely,

Apostle Adrian Wade
