The body of a fisherman was yesterday found lying on rocks at the Leonora seawall, West Coast Demerara.
The dead man has been identified as 40-year-old Sadar Sookdeo, also known as ‘Rakesh,’ of Ocean View, Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) reported that the deceased at about 2.23 pm was found in a state of decomposition by an on-duty police rank.
A report on the matter was subsequently made and officers attached to the Leonora Police Station arrived at the location, where they conducted a search on the remains of the deceased.
No marks of violence were seen and the body was subsequently transported to the Ezekiel Funeral Parlour as a post-mortem examination is awaited.
The body was identified by Sadar Singh, the uncle of the dead man.
