Guyana’s national beach football team will not compete in the 2021 Concacaf beach soccer championships following the official draw for participating nations Monday.
The Guyanese were missing from the 12 team draw for the prestigious tournament which will be held in Alajuela, Costa Rica from May 17-23. The tournament will determine the confederation’s two representatives at the FIFA beach soccer World Cup in Moscow, Russia, from August 19-29. Guyana participated in the 2017 and 2019 tournaments finishing 12th in their maiden campaign and failing to progress from the group round two years later.
