Police in Region Six are investigating the death of an overseas-based Guyanese, who was found dead in the wee hours of Thursday morning at Port Mourant, Corentyne, Berbice.
The Guyana Police Force identified the deceased as Jerol Sooroojnauth.
It said Sooroojnauth’s wife reported that she noticed he was lying on his bed motionless in the wee hours of the morning.
She alerted other family members who reported the matter to the Whim Police Station before transporting Sooroojnauth to the Port Mourant Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The deceased and his wife traveled to Guyana on March 1, 2021, for a vacation.
His body is presently lying at Ramoo’s Funeral home awaiting a post-mortem examination.
