Four-month-old Kaylee Williams of Annandale, Essequibo Coast died at approximately 1:55 am yesterday after she was found pinned under her father’s foot while they were sleeping on their bed.
Police in a statement said that the baby’s mother, Trecia Atkinson, 17, woke up to breastfeed her when she observed her husband Troy Williams’ right foot on Kaylee’s chest. At that time, a whitish substance was coming out of Kaylee’s mouth and she was motionless.
The mother told the police she immediately roused the infant’s father and they rushed her to the Suddie hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body was examined by police and no mark of violence was seen. The body is at the Suddie Public Hospital Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
