A Bonasika, Essequibo River mother of seven died during the wee hours of yesterday while en route to the hospital after complaints of being unwell.
The dead woman has been identified as 40-year-old Beverly Bumbury, called Ulits, a housewife. She was reportedly eight months pregnant when she died.
According to the police, her husband Ray Bumbury, a 45-year-old farmer, informed ranks that his wife suffers from hypertension and after he learnt of her being unwell he decided to take her to the hospital. They departed Bonasika via boat.
The man related that during their journey on the river, his wife continued to experience discomfort and on arrival at the Hubu Landing, East Bank of the Essequibo River she appeared to have lost consciousness.
As a result, the police were summoned to the landing and efforts were made to rush her to the hospital. However, she was pronounced dead after being examined by a doctor.
