One week after he was arrested and subsequently charged in relation to the leasing of several acres of land at Ogle, former Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission (GLSC), Trevor Benn is being questioned in relation to two other matters.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum confirmed today that Benn was called into the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Eve Leary, this morning for questioning in relation to two other matters.
Details about the nature of the matters remain unknown at this time.
Last Wednesday, Benn was arrested by the police in relation to the leasing of six acres of land at Ogle, East Coast Demerara (ECD) to Janico Vide Engineering Limited.
Benn is accused of defrauding the state by inducing persons by false pretence, knowing that the land is owned by the National Industrial and Commercial Investments Limited (NICIL).
On Friday, he was charged with misconduct in public office and placed on $200,000 bail. The matter was adjourned until March 31st.
