The police are investigating the death of a 15-month-old baby girl, of Cabora Village, Moruca.
The deceased has been identified as Sahara La Cruz, who died at about 3.30 hours on Tuesday in the Region One community.
According to a police statement, the mother was awakened by the cries of her baby, after which she attempted to breastfeed her but she refused.
The report added that the mother later observed that the child was experiencing convulsions which later stopped. After the convulsions, the baby remained motionless.
The matter was reported to the Acquero Police Station and a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted shortly.
