The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) has secured two more tournaments which will bowl off over the coming weeks across the Lower/Central Corentyne and Berbice River zones.
This weekend, however, will see the Berbice River Cricket Association (BRCA) hosting the France Electrical 40-over tournament where three teams will play in a round-robin format.
The opening round on Sunday sees Sandhills Cricket Club taking on Weroni at Sandhills Cricket Ground while Ebini drew a first-round bye. The second round the following Sunday will see Weroni getting a bye and the other two teams battling at Sandhills.
Round Three on April 4 sets Weroni against Ebini at the Weroni Ground with Sandhills securing the bye. The final between the top two teams will be played on April 21 at either the Area H Ground, Rose Hall Town or the Albion Community Centre Ground.
Meanwhile, 22 teams from the Lower Corentyne area will face off in the Raffik Construction T20 knockout tournament. The second division tournament bowls off on March 28. The opening fixture will see Whim hosting the University of Guyana Elites, Kildonan playing Ramnarine Memorial, Rose Hall Town Bakewell playing Courtland, Kennard Memorial visiting Albion CCCC, Jai Hind accommodating Tain/Johns, Sand Reed and Fyrish battling at Fyrish, Albion Open locking horns with No.1 Road at Albion Open, Kilcoy hosting Rose Hall Tigers and Tamarind Root facing Tain Block 4 at Hampshire while at Port Mourant, Nigg Intruders face the hosts and at Chesney, the home side takes on Belvedere United.
The second and third rounds will be played on April 11 and 18 respectively while the dates for the semi-finals and final are to be decided.
According to President of the BCB, Hilbert Foster the plan is to have at least 35 tournaments this year.
