The persons who were in contact with the three patients who tested positive for COVID-19 in Sand Creek, Region Nine, have tested negative for the virus.
This was revealed by the South Rupununi District Council (SRDC) Communications Officer Immaculata Casimero, who told Stabroek News yesterday that the doctor currently stationed at the community reported that all persons who had been in contact with the three COVID-19 patients tested negative.
Sand Creek is currently in a two-week lockdown which should conclude early next week. The lockdown was imposed by the Village Council after three persons tested positive for the virus. Two of those persons illegally travelled from Brazil, where a new and more transmissible COVID-19 variant is circulating.
