Dear Editor,
On Saturday March 20, 2021 I had cause to take my wife to the Woodlands Hospital for a medical condition and after seeing the doctor, he gave us papers to go and do an ultrasound, EKG and some lab tests. We had no problems when we went to do the ultrasound and the EKG, but it was hell when we went for the lab tests. There were three people in front of us waiting to go into the lab. So we thought it won’t take long for our turn, but sad to say we were in for a rude awakening. We waited close to two hours before our turn reached and during that time there was a build-up of about twenty persons waiting to do lab tests. So imagine editor the grumblings, frustrations and anger people were experiencing that many left saying that they are going to another hospital.
Editor, just to take out some blood or pass some urine, why does it have to take between thirty to forty minutes for one person and then you have to come back in two to four hours after for your results? Something is wrong at the Woodlands Hospital Laboratory and this is a call for the management of the hospital to look into the state of affairs at the lab.
Yours faithfully,
Imtiaz Baccus
