Guyana Police Force ranks yesterday conducted a narcotics eradication exercise at De Veldt, Upper Berbice River between 5 am and 5.30 pm, where they destroyed hundreds of suspected cannabis plants.
During the exercise, a statement from the police said that they discovered two suspected cannabis farms which measured about 6 acres and contained roughly 300,000 cannabis plants ranging from 2 feet to 5 feet in height along with a 5,000-plant nursery and 40 kilograms of suspected dried cannabis. It was also reported that three makeshift camps and a water pump, were found.
The cannabis and cannabis plants were destroyed by fire. No arrest was made, according to the police.
