The body of a pensioner was found at his North Sophia home on Thursday in a state of decomposition.
The Guyana Police Force in a press release yesterday noted that the body of 81-year-old Budhan Singh, of Block ‘R’ , North Sophia, Georgetown, was discovered on Thursday at the premises in a secondary state of decomposition.
Preliminary investigations have so far revealed that the deceased man was living alone for a number of years. His daughter, who last visited him in January, visited his home on Thursday but her calls went unanswered. The woman became suspicious and subsequently requested assistance to break the door and upon doing that, she discovered her father lying motionless on his bed without clothing.
The police noted that there were no signs of breakage or any visible marks of violence on Singh’s body.
His body is now at the Lyken Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination.
