The Golden Jaguars senior men’s team rebounded from their dismal performance in the opening Group-F match of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers by besting The Bahamas 4-0 yesterday at the Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The expected victory kept Guyana’s hopes alive of progressing to the next round. Guyana opted for the same starting XI which featured in the embarrassing 0-3 loss to Trinidad and Tobago last Thursday but switched from the 4-2-3-1 formation to a 4-4-2 setup.
The starting XI was Akel Clarke, Matthew Briggs, Miguel Scarlett, Terrence Vancooten, Captain Sam Cox, Daniel Wilson, Callum Harriott, Trayon Bobb, Keanu Marsh-Brown and Emery Welshman.
