Maritime Administration walked away with the ‘Lucky 7 Super 4-over knockout Inter-Ministries tapeball cricket competition’ when they defeated the Guyana Prison Service by two runs in the final Sunday at the Durban Park Tarmac.
Maritime Administration scored 49 runs from their allotted overs after batting first. In reply, the Guyana Prison Service ended on 47 runs. The Maritime Administration received the championship trophy and medals while the other hand, the Guyana Prison Service received the runner-up accolade.
Meanwhile, La Bonne Intention (LBI) won the Under-18 boys division of the competition on Saturday at the same venue. LBI defeated Hope Village by two runs in a closely fought encounter.
Batting first, LBI scored 47 runs from their four overs and, in reply, Hope fell agonizingly short as they registered 45 runs from their allotted four overs. LBI walked away with the championship trophy and medals while Hope pocketed the runner-up prize. The coordinators of the event were Loraine Tracey and James Lewis.
