Dear Editor,
Currently, the Natural Resource Fund has accumulated savings that is parked in the USA. This National Resource Fund was set up by the APNU+AFC Government for future generations. Yet, in Guyana there is poverty affecting over 30% of the population and over 30% of Guyana’s youth are unemployed. This scenario is like starving but having a lot of money. It would be better for the NRF to be utilized in a different way. An example would be to set up a Community Development Fund that would be revolving in 50 cities/towns/villages throughout Guyana to help with community development which creates jobs.
Sincerely,
Sean Ori
