A Wisroc mother and her two children are under observation at the Linden Hospital Complex after allegedly ingesting a poisonous substance.
Police Commander of Region Ten Superintendent Hugh Winter, confirmed that the woman and her two children were yesterday taken to hospital where they were admitted after allegedly consuming a poisonous substance. He said that the three, who reside at Wisroc, Linden, in Region Ten, are currently under observation following the incident.
According to Winter, the report was made to him by a police rank at about 10:20 hrs yesterday. He was told that “a young lady ingested a poisonous substance and she had given the substance to her children,” and that the woman and the children were rushed to the hospital.
When this newspaper contacted the commander yesterday afternoon, he said that based on the last update, the three persons are under observation at the hospital. He said that the woman was reported to be in and out of a conscious state, “she is a little bit dizzy and still in and out of consciousness.”
While the eight-year-old was stable and seems to be recuperating, there has been no further update on the child of about six months. Earlier in the day the woman was reported to be in serious condition while the children were listed as stable.
Winter informed that the situation is being monitored and that the police will continue their investigation.
