Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill has committed to the residents of Crabwood Creek, Corentyne, Region Six that the road from the Crematorium to 1st Street will be rehabilitated.
During a meeting on Saturday, the Minister heard of the struggles residents face to bid farewell to their loved ones, as the access road is in a deplorable state.
The release said that Edghill announced that $20M will go towards the rehabilitation of the road.
During his walk to the Crematorium, one resident used the opportunity to complain to the Minister of the deplorable state of her street. The release said that the Public Works Minister assured her that the street will be rehabilitated. The Minister added that his design team will be sent to conduct an assessment of the road to start the process.
Another resident was told that all streets cannot be done at once. He however told that resident that he will look into her request after the projects in the community are completed.
