A search is still underway for a Linden woman who has not been seen since she left her Canvas City, Linden residence for work more than a week ago.
A missing person report has been filed for Shonnette Dover, who was last seen on the morning of April 3.
Constance Dover, the grandmother of the missing woman, told Stabroek News that on the day she was last seen Shonnette, who resides with her boyfriend, had informed her younger sister that she was heading to work.
However, the woman stated that according to information received from Shonnette’s workplace, she never arrived. Shonnette worked as a bartender.
The disappearance of the young woman has left her family concerned and seeking answers.
Constance said her family has received information from persons claiming to have seen Shonnette but nothing solid enough to provide a lead.
She noted that they received a more recent lead yesterday about the missing woman possibly being seen in Mabura. She said they have since disclosed that information to the police and are hoping that some positive result will come from it.
Meanwhile, when contacted, Police Commander of Region Ten Superintendent Hugh Winter said that investigations are ongoing.
Dover was last seen in a yellow vest, blue ripped jeans and a pair of gold slippers.
Anyone with information regarding Dover is asked to make contact with her family members on 442-1616/ 670-6846 or 671-6455 or the nearest police station.
