More doses of the COVID-19 vaccines are expected to be in Guyana tomorrow according to Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony.
The minister made this disclosure during his daily COVID-19 update where he noted that Guyana has bought some 100,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine and has since received two batches. “We had the first 25,000 that came and now we have the second tranche of 30,000… We are expecting some more on Thursday.”
“These vaccines are very important for us to roll out to immunise our population and that is why we are paying so much attention to making sure that we get vaccines into Guyana and that we vaccinate as many people as possible,” Dr Anthony said during the update, adding that 63,740 persons have received their first dose of a vaccine as of Monday.
