The two men who the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU), allegedly found on Saturday with a quantity of cannabis at their Alberttown homes, were placed on a total of $170,000 bail.
Glen Forde, of Lot 54 Fifth Street, Alberttown, Georgetown, and Deryck Roach, 42, a bread vendor, of Lot 59 Light Street, Alberttown, Georgetown, were charged on Tuesday when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the George-town Magistrate’s Court.
The charge against Roach states that on April 10, at his home, he had 206 grammes of cannabis in his possession. It was also alleged that Forde had 33 grammes of cannabis in his possession.
Following not guilty pleas, Roach was released on $150,000 bail while Forde was placed on $20,000 bail. Both were granted bail with the condition that they report to the CANU headquarters on days assigned to them by the court until the conclusion of the matter before the court.
According to a statement by CANU, the ranks were conducting a raid at different locations when the alleged narcotics and large sums of money were discovered in the men’s homes.
The duo is expected to return to court on May 12.
