A man who went missing after visiting a friend at Supenaam Creek, Essequibo River was on Tuesday found dead during a search at the same creek.
The deceased has been identified as 41-year-old Mohan Khowshal also known as ‘Tuss’.
A police report stated that Khowshal who went to visit a friend’s home was imbibing alcohol after which he allegedly left to return home.
However, after failing to return home on Monday, a missing person report was made.
The body of the deceased man was found on Tuesday at about 23.50 hours during a search carried out in the Supenaam Creek by a team of police officers and relatives of the deceased.
The body was taken to the Suddie Public Hospital and officially pronounced dead by a doctor on duty. No mark of violence was seen.
A post-mortem examination is expected to follow shortly.
