Region Four recording highest infection rate – Dr Anthony

A number of communities in Region Four are seeing spikes in COVID-19 infections as the region continues to record the majority of the new cases daily.

This was stated by Health Minister, Dr Frank Anthony who during his daily COVID-19 update yesterday informed that in Region Four there are areas that the authorities have seen recording persistent cases. The minister went on to provide a breakdown and noted that the cases have been spread across communities on the East Bank of Demerara, Georgetown and the East Coast of Demerara.

“So on the East Bank we have had for a number of weeks now, cases in Diamond, Herstelling, Eccles. In Georgetown we have seen cases in Kitty, Campbellville, parts of South Ruimveldt… And on the East Coast we have seen in the Lusignan, Good Hope area that we are getting a number of cases”, Dr Anthony said.
