A vendor was yesterday placed on bail after being charged with stealing a woman’s $58,000 chain in the vicinity of Quality Plus Fast Foods and Bakery.
Orrin Padmore, 19, a vendor, of Lot 76 Vryheid’s Lust, East Coast Demerara, was taken before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court when he was released on $15,000 bail after denying the charge.
The charge states that on April 8, at Hincks Street, Georgetown, in the vicinity of Quality Plus Fast Foods and Bakery, he stole from the person of Atelly Gonsalves, a chain valued $58,000, property of Gonsalves.
Padmore pleaded not guilty and was released on $15,000 bail.
The matter will be called again on April 27.
