Romain Legay was on Tuesday relieved of a Honda XR motorcycle valued at $460,000 by two bandits at Eccles Public Road, East Bank Demerara.
The police in a statement informed that Legay at the time of the robbery was proceeding south along the Eccles Public Road in the vicinity of a traffic light.
The report stated that the two men who were on a black and red Honda XR motorcycle approached Legay after which the pillion rider dismounted and began assaulting him.
A scuffle ensued between the two and resulted in the pillion rider brandishing a handgun which he later used to hit Legay in the face.
The suspect then relieved the man of his motorcycle and subsequently escaped in a northerly direction on the Public Road.
Legay reported the matter to the East Ruimveldt Police Station and was subsequently transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) where he received medical treatment.
No arrest has been made.
