A 25-year-old man was last night shot dead in the vicinity of his Drysdale Street, Charlestown residence and the police have issued a bulletin for the suspected shooter.
The deceased has been identified as Odingo Anthony Haywood, who was said to be on his way home when the shooting occurred.
The police in a release stated that Haywood was allegedly killed by a suspect who is known as ‘Biggie’.
Enquiries have revealed that the incident emanated from a dispute between two men over an alleged robbery committed by ‘Biggie’ on a victim who was known to the deceased.
This morning, the police said that Lenroy Michael Forde is wanted for the murder of Haywood. Anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Forde is asked to contact the police on telephone numbers 227-2603, 226-6978, 226-6221, 219-3252, 227-1149, 225-8196, 268-2328, 268-2298/2222, 226-7065, 911 or the nearest police station.
When Stabroek News arrived at the scene of the shooting, family members of the deceased as well as onlookers were present as the police conducted their investigation.
Family members were too distraught to speak with the media.
Investigations are ongoing.
