A police operation on Monday last led to the apprehension of murder suspect Orlando Richards in Region 8.
Police yesterday said that Richards is wanted for questioning in the murder of priest George Chuck-A-Sang, 82, which occurred last December.
According to the Police, Richards is currently being questioned by the Major Crimes Unit. A wanted bulletin was issued earlier this year for the 22-year-old suspect.
In February, two persons were charged with Chuck-A-Sang’s murder at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
Rawle McPherson, 45, of Victoria, East Coast Demerara and Mohanie Mohabir, 43, of Corentyne, Berbice were not required to plead to the indictable charge.
The charge states that between December 21 and December 23, 2020 at the St Sidwell’s Anglican Church, Vlissengen Road, Lodge, Georgetown, they murdered Chuck-A-Sang.
Days after the charge, a wanted bulletin was issued for the 22-year-old suspect.
