The police are seeking the assistance of the police in locating a second suspect in the murder of Swan, Soesdyke/ Linden Highway resident Roy Ross, who was killed last month.
The Guyana Police Force on Friday issued a wanted bulletin for Adolph Joseph called ‘Black Boy’, 19, whose last known address is Swan Squatting Area, Soesdyke/ Linden Highway. It said Joseph is wanted for questioning about the murder of Ross.
Ross, 24, of Swan Village, Kuru Kururu, Soesdyke-Linden Highway, is believed to have been killed sometime between 11pm on April 4 and 6am on April 5, 2021 at Swan Soesdyke/Linden highway.
A family member, who asked not to be named, previously told Stabroek News that a neighbour of the deceased observed that a door of Ross’s house was open when he arrived on the night of April 4.
According to the family member, the neighbour stated that the door was still open on the following morning, which led to him investigating and he discovered Ross lying motionless on the floor in his home. He then raised an alarm.
The family member added that another occupant of the same neighbour’s home stated that she heard sounds coming from Ross’ home on the night of April 4 but disregarded it as a fight between Ross and his wife.
The woman said she later saw two persons fully clothed in black exiting the deceased’s yard and heading towards the bushes across from his house. Nothing was reported missing from the home.
Days after, 23-year-old Ewert Calistro was charged with the murder of Ross and remanded to prison.
The police had said that Calistro reportedly confessed to the crime.
Anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Joseph is asked to contact the police on telephone numbers 227-2603, 226-6978, 226-6221, 219-3252, 227-1149, 225-8196, 268-2328, 268-2298/2222, 226-7065, 911 or the nearest police station.
