As is customary, Fitness Express has again answered the call of the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation Inc. (GBBFFI).
Yesterday, owner of Guyana’s leading gym equipment and supplement supplier, Jamie McDonald presented a sponsorship cheque to president of the body, Keavon Bess.
The sponsorship will go towards the staging of this years Novices and Mr. Linden Bodybuilding Fitness Championships scheduled for Lichas Hall on May 29.
Following the handing over ceremony at Mc Donald’s Sheriff Street establishment, Bess thanked McDonald for being a continued benefactor of the sport and some of its elite athletes.
McDonald stated that Fitness Express was proud to play its part in helping the community of hardworking athletes of the fitness fraternity.
The first bodybuilding and fitness competition for 2021 will be streamed live on all major social media platforms.
In the midst of the pandemic, this year’s event is to celebrate life, health and fitness whilst promoting a healthy lifestyle and healthy living.
Bess, an Attorney-at-Law said just like the successful ‘Resilience’ Championships which was staged last December, all safety measures for those in attendance will be observed.
“Athletes, backstage personnel and the executive of the GBBFFI undertakes to observe all COVID-19 protocols.”
While on stage, athletes will be required to stand six feet apart from each other. While backstage athletes will be required to wear their masks and to maintain the mandatory physical distancing. Judges will be seated six feet from each other and will be required to wear masks.
On the night of the competition there will be about 25 athletes competing in the three different segments of competition, Bodybuilding, Bikini and Men’s Physique.
