At 22, Miss Bikini Champion Rosanna Fung is fit and fabulous and despite being at the top rung of the ladder in terms of health and fitness, she is a strong advocate for people to be vaccinated in order to help in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
While she may have a robust immune system and is not in the high-risk category of becoming a casualty of the pandemic, Fung plans to get vaccinated in the not-too-distant future.
A statuesque mix of beauty and aesthetics, she has a large social media following and is motivational in and out the gym. She plans to use her platform to influence her fans and followers.
As the Bikini Champion who aspires to represent Guyana at the highest regional show in August (the CAC Champion-ships), getting fully inoculated is a no-brainer.
“In my opinion, all athletes should be vaccinated,” Fung said. “The current measures being taken are only doing so much to prevent the spread of the virus but we have a civic duty to take whatever measures we can to increase the efficiency of prevention and if that means taking the vaccine, I feel this is a no-brainer.”
Fung is a personal trainer at Space Gym and she comes into contact with numerous clients on a daily basis. She is encouraging everyone to play their part against the deadly virus which has claimed in excess of 3 million lives worldwide and more than 300 locally. “I would encourage each and everyone after doing the proper precautionary tests to get vaccinated for the greater good,” she added.
Researchers say that prominent people getting the COVID-19 vaccine and urging others to get inoculated could help overcome widespread skepticism.
While many influential persons like athletes are getting vaccinated, in the same breath, they are adamant that taking the vaccine should be a personal decision and it should not ever be made mandatory to compete.
