One hundred and twenty-eight new COVID-19 cases were recorded yesterday.
This was revealed by the Ministry of Health through its COVID-19 dashboard which showed that the new cases increased Guyana’s total positive count to 14,659. These came after some 1,456 more persons were tested. The total number of persons tested to date now stands at 132,331.
The country now has some 1,763 active cases, 106 of whom are in institutional isolation while another 1,657 are in home isolation. The new cases were reported in five administrative regions; 23 cases in Region Three, 68 in Region Four, 24 in Region Five, two in Region Seven and 11 in Region Ten. According to the dashboard, the number of persons in the COVID-19 ICU is 14. Another 108 persons have recovered from the virus. The total number of recovered cases now stands at 12,551.
