Although Cricket West Indies (CWI) is yet to make a release on the itinerary, South Africa will play two test matches in St Lucia on their upcoming tour of the Caribbean.
That is according to veteran West Indies cricket commentator, Guyanese Joseph `Reds’ Perreira.
According to Perreira, the opening test match will begin on June 10th and the South Africans will also play five T20 Internationals.
Because of the pandemic South Africa is a red zone country and they are not allowed to fly to the United Kingdom or the United States.
As such, Perreira said the South Africans are scheduled to arrive in the Caribbean via Johannesburg, Paris and St Maarten.
While the West Indies selectors are yet to name a training squad, Perreira said they will come to St Lucia to have a fairly large camp.
“They will play a three-day game against themselves and then they’ll play a four-day practice game against themselves,” Perreira told this newspaper last evening from his home in St Lucia.
According to Perreira, Kent Crafton, head curator for Cricket West Indies is starting to work on the square at the Darren Sammy Stadium ground.
