The attorney for former acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Industrial and Commercial Investments Limited (NICIL) Colvin Heath-London, who is accused of conspiring to defraud the state through the unsanctioned disposal of land at Peters Hall, East Bank Demerara, has requested that a Preliminary Inquiry (PI) be conducted into the charges against him.
When Heath-London appeared at a Georgetown court on Monday, his attorney made the request for the PI to be conducted to determine if there is sufficient evidence for the matter to be heard at the High Court.
The other accused, PNCR member James Bond, businessman Eddie Doolal, and Jermaine Richmond, have all entered not guilty pleas before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan who re-read the charges to them.
