The Supreme Court of Judicature in collaboration with the Ministry of Health last week continued its COVID-19 vaccination drive at the Georgetown and Berbice High Courts.
In a statement, the Supreme Court explained that prior to the vaccination exercises that were conducted last Wednesday and Thursday, a series of webinars were hosted to apprise staff of the pandemic in order to combat vaccination hesitancy. It noted that these webinars gave staff opportunities to have their general concerns addressed by medical practitioners, resulting in staff members from courts across the country indicating their intention to be vaccinated.
Members of staff were also encouraged to have their relatives and friends participate in the vaccination exercises and invitations were also extended to attorneys and their staff. The statement said this resulted more persons being administered the first dose of the vaccines during the two-day drive.
The first vaccination drive was held in March, at the Umana Yana.
