After 25 years Guyanese Eon Rodney who goes by stage name Major Joe B is this weekend releasing his second album, ‘Glory, Glory’.
Major Joe B, a seasoned Dancehall singer who has been in the music industry for 30 years, started his career back in the days when concerts were held at bottom houses.
The singer who lived in Jamaica for eight years returned to live here in 2012 during which time he converted to Christianity. Since then he has been writing Gospel songs.
Three weeks ago, the artiste also released a Dancehall song, “Mask Up”. Major Joe B shared that he had the song at the back of his mind two months prior to writing and releasing it. “Mask Up” was recorded with Brutal Tracks Recording Studio while the mixing of the song was done by Ken the Beat Maker. Since the release of the song, it has been aired on 94.1 FM and MAAD 97.5FM.
Back in 2015, Major Joe B released “The Jubilee” in commemoration of Guyana celebrating 50 years of independence.
The artiste released his first album called ‘Reggaemania’ in 1996.
Major Joe B has shared the stage with many international artistes since then including his last huge show here in 2010 which featured Jamaican Dancehall singer Beenie Man and Trinidadian Soca artiste Destra.
To date, he has released more than 70 songs. At 51, the singer said, he is still doing well in the music industry recording among the youths.
