Plaisance man shot in altercation

A Plaisance man is currently a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital nursing gunshot wounds to the left side of his torso and his right leg following an altercation over money on Saturday afternoon.

According to the police, the victim, a thirty-two-year-old man was on Saturday about 4:45 pm on Victoria and Britton Road, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara when he and another man ended up in a heated argument over money.

The perpetrator then left the scene on a motorcycle but returned shortly afterwards armed with a handgun. The suspect fired two shots in the victim’s direction injuring him in the process. The perpetrator then escaped. He is yet to be apprehended.

The victim’s condition has been listed as stable.

Investigations are ongoing.
