The body of 42-year-old Woodrow John Lepps was found at an abandoned building at Victoria, East Coast Demerara, where he resided.
Lepps, who suffered from epilepsy, was discovered around 9 am on Monday.
According to a Guyana Police Force release, Lepps was last seen by his sister on Sunday, when he visited her home and collected breakfast, before returning to his regular dwelling place.
However, on Monday, the release stated, the sister received information that Lepps was found dead in the abandoned building with what appeared to be a wound to the left side of his head.
His remains were transported to the CC Nicholson Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His remains were subsequently taken to the Lyken Funeral Parlour to await a post-mortem examination.
