A Diamond man was placed on $150,000 bail yesterday after he pleaded not guilty to the charge of discharging a loaded firearm with intent.
The accused, 28-year-old Warren Lawrence called ‘Footballer’, a self-employed resident of Twelfth Avenue, Diamond, East Bank Demerara, yesterday morning appeared before Magistrate Rochelle Liverpool at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court.
Lawrence who plead not guilty was given bail with the conditions that he lodges his passport, informs the court/prosecutor if he changes his address and must not be in possession of any firearm.
The accused was arrested on Monday and charged with the said offence contrary to section 55(a) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01 committed on Mosi Edwards called ‘Ghost’ on January 17 at Ogle, East Coast Demerara.
The matter was postponed until June 16 for statements and fixture.
