Two co-workers are now hospitalised with head injuries after a row at a birthday party culminated in them hitting each other with a piece of wood.
The two injured men were identified as Troy Castillo, 41, of East Bank Essequibo, and Kelvin Roberts, 21, of Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, who fought each other on Wednesday at 28 Miles UNAMCO, Upper Berbice River.
According to the Guyana Police Force, at about 10pm on Tuesday the two men were at a birthday party, where an argument started after Castillo alleged that Roberts threw something into his drink.
The report said on the following day Castillo was brushing his teeth when he was approached by Roberts, who dealt him a lash in his head with a piece of wood.
Castillo, however, managed to take the wood from Roberts and used it to strike him to his head.
Castillo was taken to the Kwakwani Hospital, where he was admitted as a patient in a stable condition, while Roberts was transported to the Linden Hospital Complex suffering with a fractured skull.
His condition is also regarded as stable.
