The Department of Public Information says that another shipment of the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccines from Russia arrived today at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri.
It did not say how many doses had arrived. Guyana has exhausted its supply of Sputnik second doses and was awaiting this shipment. It still however had Sputnik first doses on hand. The Russian vaccine has been described as the “backbone” of Guyana’s COVID-19 vaccination programme. The first and second doses are not identical.
