Two teens were on Monday arrested after one of them was found with a .38 Taurus revolver containing four live rounds of ammunition after a police chase in South Georgetown.
The Guyana Police Force said the teens, who are ages 18 and 16 years, were arrested sometime around 4.30 pm.
The report explained that motorcycle patrol ranks while on duty observed two identifiable teens on a blue motorcycle with registration number CK 6414 on Tacuba Road, Tucville Georgetown.
As the patrol proceeded to stop the teens, they continued to ride south of Tucville Turning Point, before proceeding south into High Palm Drive, South Ruimveldt Gardens.
The report stated that the police ranks gave chase behind them and the teens were eventually intercepted on High Palm Drive.
During a search conducted on the teens, the 18-year-old, who was also the driver of the motorcycle, was found with a .38 Taurus revolver containing four rounds. Nothing of evidential value was found on the 16-year-old.
The suspect was told of the offence and they were both taken to the East La Penitence Police Station.
Further investigation revealed that the motorcycle they were operating was reportedly stolen on June 5th, 2021 at North Road at gunpoint by two identifiable males.
