A forty-year-old woman of East Coast Demerara is currently in police custody after walking into the Sparendaam Police Station with a knife in her hand that she reportedly stabbed her reputed husband with. The twenty-nine-year-old victim is currently hospitalized.
According to a police report, the suspect walked into the police station about 2pm yesterday informing them of the incident.
The woman told police that she stabbed her husband twice after he physically assaulted her while she was imbibing with friends. It is alleged that as a result of the assault, she retaliated by stabbing the man.
Investigations are ongoing.
