Singer/songwriter Melissa Vandeyar will again offer vocal lessons slated to begin next week for a limited period. A Gospel singer who has collaborated with a number of others in the past, including the famous Samuel Medas, Melissa’s sessions will be open to both the young and the old.
The sessions will help students achieve more controlled breathing, vocal control, proper enunciation, intonation, to learn to sing on key and to care for their vocals. Melissa last held these classes in 2017.
The classes are open to anyone five years and older. All sessions are being held in a physical setting but in small numbers as is required by the COVID guidelines. The singer is currently working on setting up her sessions virtually. All participants will be expected to walk with a notebook, a pen and a bottle of water.
Melissa still has a full-time job and will conduct classes after 4.30 pm on weekdays and on weekends. They are being offered in three categories – General Sessions, Individual Adult Sessions and Individual Children Sessions. General Sessions are one day a week for an hour and a half. Individual Adult Sessions are two hours per session on two days a week while Children Individual Sessions are two days a week also for an hour each session. The training sessions which begin next week conclude in July.
At present, Melissa is providing vocal training to a worship group of a church. The singer is also working on several Gospel songs expected to be released by the end of the year. Some years ago, Melissa had released her first single “Ashes”.
