A 16-year-old student of a public secondary school was on Thursday handed over to the police after he was found with a bullet.
According to the Guyana Police Force, a teacher found the male student showing the round to a group of others students at the Region Three school.
As a result, the bullet was seized and a photo of it was sent to the school’s headmistress, who is described as “a military person,” and she confirmed the bullet to be a .32 round.
The District Education Officer was informed and the discovery was reported to the police.
The ammunition and the student were then handed over to the police for further investigations, the police added.
