Shamar Harvey, who is accused of killing Albouystown teen Christopher Mansfield in 2019, was on Thursday committed to stand trial at the Georgetown High Court.
Upon the completion of the Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the charge, Senior Magistrate Leron Daly ruled that there were sufficient evidence for him to stand trial before a judge and a jury at the High Court.
It is alleged that Harvey, 23, of Albouystown, murdered Mansfield on March 31st.
The fatal shooting of Mansfield, 18, of 66 Barr Street, Albouystown, occurred in close proximity to Nonpareil Street, Albouystown, as he was making his way to a football field at West La Penitence.
Residents of the street related that the shooting occurred some distance away and Mansfield collapsed on the street. Resi-dents said that it was at that point that they offered assistance.
Vanessa Mansfield, the aunt of the deceased, indicated at the time that three gunshots were directed at her nephew but she was only able to observe a single gunshot wound in the region of his chest.
