One man was taken into police custody while a search was still ongoing yesterday for his alleged accomplice in the rape of a pregnant teen in Region Seven.
According to the Guyana Police Force, the 17-year-old victim was approached by the two, who were in a car, and they took her against her will to the home of one of the perpetrators. It was there that they allegedly took turns raping her while they each videoed the ordeal.
“The victim further alleges that the ordeal caused her to miscarry,” the police added.
The girl related what occurred to a relative on June 15 and on June 17 a report was made to the police.
The police said a suspect has been arrested and placed into custody, while a search for the other suspect is underway.
