I would like to publicly thank Dr. Codina, Dr. Rosello Dias, Dr. Padmini Singh, and Mr. Ryan Dos Santos from PAHO for offering and facilitating the installation of this very special software at Dr. Balwant Singh’s Hospital. This software is detailed and includes important data such as near misses, metabolic maternal issues, etc. It is the result of a few decades of dedicated work by Dr. Rosello Dias and his team. The most remarkable feature of this software is that it allows the user to pull statistical analyses straight from the software, such as Caesarean section rate and indications for Caesarean sections among many other statistics, without having to input information into any other statistical software package, thereby saving hundreds of man hours. This software is being rolled out in the Public system and we at Dr. Balwant Singh’s Hospital, Maternal and Paediatric services feel privileged to have been included. Eventually, once the software is implemented throughout the public system, it will allow integration of information from all centers providing Maternal and child health services, whether public or private and therefore allow a seamless transfer of information, making care for these women and children, also seamless.
