A twenty-three-year-old man died after he was stabbed following an altercation at a birthday party which the twenty-one-year-old suspect was also at.
It has been alleged that the now dead man was the one who started the argument.
According to a police report, the deceased, Kwal Dindon along with two of his friends attended a birthday party at Sandy Babb Street, Kitty, Georgetown. Sometime between Saturday and yesterday, an argument ensued between Dindon and the suspect resulting in Dindon pushing the suspect to the ground.
The report further stated that the suspect got up and ran along Sandy Babb Street while Dindon armed himself with a piece of wood and along with his friends pursued the suspect.
Dindon and his friends after catching up with the man, dealt him several lashes about his body which caused the suspect to retaliate by pulling out a knife from his pants’ waist and stabbing Dindon to the right side of his upper back. Dindon then ran into a nearby yard where he fell to the ground in an unconscious state.
The Georgetown Public Hospital’s ambulance was summoned and Dindon was taken to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and was admitted to the ICU. However, he succumbed to his injuries at 2 pm yesterday.
The suspect and the two friends of the deceased were arrested.
