A twenty-five-year-old bus driver was held at gunpoint and robbed of his bus and a quantity of cash on Sunday night by two men in the vicinity of Swan Village, Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
The stolen vehicle, a Toyota Pitbull minibus which is orange and black in colour and is registered as registration number BWW 1914 is valued at $2,980,000. The driver was also robbed of $20,000 in cash.
According to a police report, the driver said that he had pulled over to the side of the road in the vicinity of Swan Village for the bus to cool off as it was overheating. The area was said to be really dark.
The driver said that about five minutes later at about 9 pm, he saw a dark-coloured car pull up behind the bus and two men exited. They ran to the driver’s side and one of them pulled a black handgun from his pants waist and pointed it at the driver.
The suspects pulled him out of the bus and searched him relieving him of the items. The bus was then driven away.
The victim reported the matter to the Kuru Kururu Police Outpost. Investigations are ongoing.
