A man is now in custody after he was found with 218 grammes of suspected cannabis at Plaisance, East Coast Demerara.
According to the police, the suspect was seen throwing a yellowish plastic bag over a fence and into a yard during a search exercise that was conducted at Britton Street, Plaisance on Monday.
The report explained that the bag was retrieved and checked and several transparent ziplock bags with the suspected cannabis were found.
The suspect was taken to the Sparendaam Police Station, where the cannabis was weighed. It amounted to 218 grammes in total.
